Hello and thanks for visiting my website. My name is Kay Lancashire and I love creating beautiful things for people to wear and enjoy. I have done a broad range of Art and Craft over my life with a strong focus on textile and clothing.
I have been doing silk painting and multimedia pictures on and off for the last 30 years.
Over the last 25 years I have dabbled with making my own jewellery. Since 2002 I have been making jewellery and accessories in earnest and selling through markets and Galleries in the Bega Valley. Since coming back to Victoria I have been teaching jewellery making and also have some work represented at galleries and venues around Gippsland. In September 2006 I held my first solo exhibition in Yarram at The Courthouse Gallery and sold over 1/3 of the 140 pieces on show, with many commissioned pieces flowing on from that exhibition. I had a shopfront in beautiful Loch for around 5 years up to February 2011.
My work has been published in the Australian Publication “Beads etc”. Design Challenges - a National Australian Bead Magazine and on their website. I have been a finalist in the Beads etc Designer of the year competition (2007). A number of projects have been published by Australian Beading Magazine, Creative Beading and the Victorian Beading Society’s magazine Connect
5 pieces of work have been published in the US published book ‘1000 Jewelry Inspirations Quarry Press - June 2008. To my knowledge I am the only Aussie in the book.
I was a finalist in the 2010 Australian Swarovski Competition, with my piece 'Winter'
I live in Neerim South with my husband Bill Statham who helps creates many of the beautiful Viking Wire weave chains that feature on many of my jewellery pieces.
